TWO NORTON MOTORCYCLES ARE TO BE INCLUDED IN THE ANTIQUES & DECORATIVE AUCTION 22 NOVEMBER 2016. THE MOTORCYCLES HAVE BEEN CONSIGNED FROM A LOCAL DECEASED ESTATE AND ARE ESTIMATED AT £5,000-£8,000 AND £3,000-£5,000.
The two motorcycles, which are Lots One and Two in the auction which starts at 10am, are the stand-out lots in the motoring section of the Antiques and Decorative Sale.
Lot One: Norton SS motorbike, registration number BOO 37, date of first registration 19/12/61, three owners from new, 650cc, with Registration Book (Vehicles Excise Act 1949), old style V5 logbook, three old MOT and insurance certificates (2001, 2002 and 2003). Estimate £5,000 – £8,000.
Lot Two : Restoration project – Norton SS motorbike, registration number RTS 92, date of first registration 28/02/64 (possibly re-registered to ETU 463 on 16/05/87), 650cc, with Registration Book (Vehicles Excise Act 1949), old style V5 logbook, with box of spares and accessories). Estimate £3,000 – £5,000
The market for classic British motorcycles is strong, and these two examples are sure to attract much interest. The auction will be broadcast online with live internet bidding, and we are expecting numerous enquiries. The bikes have already been noticed in the saleroom and probably word is already out there on the grapevine!
The motoring section of the sale on 22nd November will also include a blue Mercedes S350 Auto four door saloon (2005, two owners from new, 22,000 miles), and a silver Vauxhall Corsa Club 12V three door hatchback (1999, one owner, 14,000 miles).
